Himi Coastal Botanical Garden
Renewed in April 2021, the Himi Coastal Botanical Garden is a place where children and adults can play and learn together, rain or shine, even in snowy weather.
With a focus on “wood education,” the garden offers numerous wooden toys, allowing even the youngest visitors to have fun while exploring. On the fourth floor, the observation restaurant serves delicious Italian cuisine with views of Matsudae Beach.

Kōkyū-ji Temple
Kokyuji Temple is especially known for its tea garden, a traditional kaiyū-shiki (strolling-style) garden with a central pond.
The garden is said to have been created during the Hoei era of the Edo period (around 1704–1711) by Komazukuri, a gardener associated with the Kaga Domain. It features a tranquil landscape where ponds and winding garden paths are skillfully arranged to make use of the natural terrain.

Asahiyama Park
Asahiyama Park is known as a popular spot for cherry blossoms and azaleas in spring. Around 270 Somei Yoshino cherry trees color the entire hillside with beautiful blooms.

Fugan Canal Kansui Park
Fugan Canal Kansui Park is a waterfront park covering 9.8 hectares (about 98,000 m²), developed as part of an urban revitalization project in the 1990s. The park was created by making use of the historic Fugan Canal, which was once used for industry and logistics.
Today, the park features beautiful canals, walking paths, grassy lawns, and fountains. Visitors can enjoy a relaxing stroll during the day, while at night the illuminated scenery creates a magical and atmospheric view.

Toyama Glass Art Museum
The building was designed by the world-renowned architect Kengo Kuma. Its exterior combines glass, granite, and aluminum, creating a distinctive design inspired by the majestic forms of the Tateyama Mountain Range.

Toyama Castle
Toyama Castle is said to have been built around 1543 by the samurai Nagamoto Jimbo during the Sengoku period. Over time, the castle changed hands amid the political turmoil of the era, and during the Edo period it became the residence of the Toyama Domain, a branch of the Maeda clan of Kaga.
Many of the original structures were lost after the Meiji Restoration, and the current main keep was reconstructed in 1954.

Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route
The Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is a scenic mountain route stretching approximately 37 km from Tateyama Town in Toyama Prefecture to Omachi City in Nagano Prefecture.
Passing through the 3,000-meter-high Northern Alps, visitors can enjoy Japan’s spectacular mountain scenery while traveling via a combination of cable cars, highland buses, ropeways, and trolley buses. This route is renowned as one of Japan’s most breathtaking alpine journeys.

It takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes by car to Tateyama Station. From there, visitors transfer between the Tateyama Cable Car, Tateyama Highland Bus, Tateyama Ropeway, and Kurobe Cable Car to continue along the Alpine Route.
Kurobe Gorge Railway
The Kurobe Gorge Railway, also officially known as the Kurobe Gorge Torokko Train, is a scenic railway that winds along the Kurobe River in Kurobe City, Toyama Prefecture.
This route runs through one of Japan’s deepest gorges, offering visitors an up-close experience of the dramatic natural landscapes and the majestic beauty of the canyon, making it a must-visit sightseeing destination.
